PROGRESS REPORT #42 - August 29, 2009

This progress report describes the status of the construction activities for the Grace Church Project.

 A. Construction of Santa Monica has been completed. We are awaiting approval from the City of Albuquerque.

B. Chavez Lath and Plaster, Inc. has completed stuccoing the building and the trash enclosures.

C. All counter tops have been installed.

D. The area in front of the portals is in the process of being changed from stamped concrete to landscape with pathways. The landscape plan was presented to the pastors and staff, and I was given approval to proceed. Chris Burk was given the landscape plan to put the infrastructure on CAD. I have taken this drawing to the landscape architect for incorporation of the exact details for trees/shrubs/river rock/etc. In addition, he will include a ledger containing the type and number of trees/shrubs. Once this is completed, I can give it to the city for approval.

E. All the classrooms have been carpeted and the base molding installed

G. Century Drywall has completed sheet rocking all rooms. The pass-through(s) going into the kitchen will need to be cut down from the current 36" to 34" to meet ADA requirements.

H. The backboards have been installed and the electricity provided to enable raising and lowing. The scoreboard arrived today and will be installed by the electricians.

I. The runners for the dropped ceiling have been installed. We are waiting on a seismic inspection prior to putting in the ceiling tile.

J. The floor tile has been completed, except for the circular area.

K. The North parking area has been asphalted and striped. Speed bumps have been installed at four locations.

L. The wall outlets and some lights have been cut over at the panel.

M. The hoods for the stove and dishwasher have been installed. Tuesday the stainless steel will arrive, and installation of the kitchen equipment will begin.

N. The epoxy floors have been installed. In addition, epoxy of two showers has also been completed.

O. Landscaping is approximately 95% complete. The connection to the reclaimed water has been installed and inspected by the city. We are now using reclaimed water for irrigation of the new landscape.

P. Southwest Fire Protection has completed the sprinkler system. However, the gears for opening/closing the valve broke. The replacement part is being ordered.

Q. Sound and Signal is still in the process of connecting the fire alarm system.

R. The metal roof has been completed. A gutter and down spouts have also been installed on the south side of the gym to prevent water, due to runoff from the roof, flowing on the ramp/sidewalk.

S. The water closets have all been installed. Metal partitions dividing them are being installed. All but one of the fire extinguishers have been installed. The last one requires a larger fire extinguisher due to it being next to a fire rated wall. Therefore, the opening will have to be enlarged to accommodate the bigger unit.

T. The windows in the gym have been installed. O’Malley Glass is caulking all windows.

U. The outside fire ladder to the roof has been installed.

V. Mirrors have been installed above the sinks in all bathrooms.

W. All railings have been installed.
