Building Connections Announcements
Parking Lot Lights. As part of the construction process, the electrical wiring for the parking lot will need to be cut. So the lights in the parking lot will not work for an indefinite period of time. Also, the San Antonio entrance will not be accessible during the week of December 8. We apologize for the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience and understanding.
BREAKING NEWS!
THE TOTAL AMOUNT RECEIVED AS OF DECEMBER 1, 2008 FOR BUILDING CONNECTIONS: $141,716.15!
PARKING ALERT! Our parking area will be smaller during building construction. Parking is available in the vacant lot just north of the limited parking area. We encourage those who are able to do a passenger drop off, park in the vacant lot, and "hike" to the building. Thanks for your help, and we apologize for the inconvenience!
MOVING FORWARD. With close to $2 million in resources available - which includes over $1.5 million in 3-year Building Connections commitments and $400,000 in savings - the Board of Elders made the decision to proceed with the Building Connections project as planned. We're excited, blessed and filled with anticipation over the MINISTRY opportunities - both within Grace Church and out in the community! We are further blessed with a wonderful contractor - Grace Church member Lyle Hofferth - who is committed to keeping costs down; a commitment from a local business to give us concrete at cost; a donation of all the lighting needed; and a newly negotiated mortgage rate of 5.3 percent!
Once the Board of Elders has sufficient information from the contractor, the Board will develop contingency plans for partial completion of the new space should building costs escalate or other problems arise.
Please continue to pray for all aspects of Building Connections, and especially for our contractor as he submits plans to the City of Albuquerque Environmental Planning Commission in mid-July. Pending that approval, we hope to break ground as soon as possible!
